Marcy PUGM6 Underglass Molding 9.5mm × 75ft | Sponge | Windshield Installation
✅ In Stock
The Marcy PUGM6 is a 9.5mm sponge underglass molding designed for windshield and auto glass installation. Sponge compound compresses easily to fill the gap between glass and pinchweld, creating a weather-tight, rattle-free seal. Sold as a 75ft roll.

Width Selection Guide
Measure the gap between the glass edge and the pinchweld. For sponge compound, select a molding that's 1–2mm wider than the measured gap — sponge compresses under glass weight and creates a tighter seal than a loose fit. At 9.5mm, PUGM6 fits a wide range of domestic and import windshield openings where the gap runs in the 8–9mm range.
What's the difference between sponge and solid underglass molding?
Sponge compound is softer and more compressible — it flattens slightly when the glass is set, filling irregular gaps and absorbing minor alignment differences. Solid compound is denser and holds its shape, which makes it ideal for tight, consistent gaps. For most windshield installations with a standard pinchweld, sponge is the more forgiving choice.
How do I know which width to order?
Measure the gap between the edge of the glass and the pinchweld before ordering. For sponge molding, select a width 1–2mm larger than the measured gap to ensure the compound compresses into a proper seal. If you're between sizes, go up, not down.
How much molding does one job use?
A standard windshield typically uses 6 to 9 feet of underglass molding. A 75ft roll covers approximately 8 to 12 installs. For high-volume shops, buying by the roll keeps your cost per job low.
Can this be used on rear or side glass?
Yes. Underglass molding is used anywhere there's a pinchweld-to-glass gap that needs sealing — front windshields, rear windows, and quarter glass. Confirm the gap width before ordering to ensure the right size for each application.
Does this molding need adhesive?
Underglass molding is held in place by the weight and pressure of the glass itself, along with the urethane adhesive bead. No separate adhesive is needed for the molding. Position it along the pinchweld before setting the glass, and the compression from installation locks it in place.
