Black aluminum specialty rivet for Ford windshield and body panel applications. All-aluminum construction — both rivet body and mandrel — makes this an ideal choice for exterior use where galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals is a concern. The wide 3/8" flange distributes clamping load across the panel face for a secure, rattle-free hold.

Why does this rivet use an aluminum mandrel instead of steel?

An aluminum mandrel eliminates the galvanic corrosion risk that occurs when a steel mandrel contacts aluminum or body panels in wet environments. On exterior windshield and body panel applications, an all-aluminum rivet provides a longer-lasting, corrosion-resistant fastening point.

What is the grip range and why does it matter?

The grip range (1/8"–3/16") is the total combined thickness of all panels the rivet can clamp together. Choosing a rivet with the correct grip range ensures the mandrel breaks at the right point inside the rivet body, locking the head and creating a solid set. Using a rivet outside its grip range results in a weak or loose fastening.

What does the 3/8" flange diameter do?

The flange is the wide head on the exterior (pulling) side of the rivet. A 3/8" flange spreads the clamping load across a larger surface area, reducing the chance of pull-through on thin panels and providing a neat, finished appearance on visible fastening points.

Can I use this rivet on non-Ford vehicles?

This rivet is catalogued for Ford windshield applications, but the physical dimensions (1/8" diameter, 1/8"–3/16" grip, 3/8" flange) may suit other vehicles or applications using the same hole and panel stack. Verify hole diameter and total panel thickness before ordering for non-Ford use.

What pack sizes are available?

Available in packs of 50, 100, 200, and 300 to suit a single repair or a shop supply of this common Ford windshield rivet.
