What is underglass molding used for?
Underglass molding — also called setting tape or setting bead — is placed along the pinch weld before the glass is set into the urethane bead. It keeps the glass at the correct height, prevents it from sinking before the urethane cures, and protects the glass edge from direct contact with the metal pinch weld.
When should I use sponge vs. solid vs. firm sponge PUGM?
Sponge profiles (PUGM2, PUGM3, PUGM6) compress under the weight of the glass — they're ideal for vehicles where slight pinch weld height variation exists across the opening, as the compression accommodates inconsistencies.
