What's the difference between 66820-3S500 and 66820-3S500-C1?

These are the same clip — the -C1 suffix is a color/finish designation Nissan added in certain catalog years. Both numbers refer to an identical white nylon double-head retainer with the same dimensions. Our 20672 replaces both.

Do these fit Nissan NV cargo vans?

Yes — the NV1500, NV2500, and NV3500 full-size cargo and passenger vans (2012–2021) use the same cowl panel retainer as the earlier Frontier and Pathfinder. The panel hole size and retainer dimensions are identical.

When do these retainers need to be replaced?

Replace them any time the cowl panel is removed for windshield replacement or underhood access. After 7–10 years of UV and heat exposure, nylon retainers become brittle and will snap rather than release cleanly. Installing fresh retainers ensures a rattle-free seal and prevents broken tabs from rattling inside the panel cavity.

Why is this a double-head retainer?

The dual-head design lets the retainer pass through a larger hole in the outer panel while locking onto a smaller hole in the inner flange. This two-stage engagement holds the cowl panel securely even with slight misalignment between layers — which is common after windshield work.

How many retainers does one Nissan need?

Most Nissan Frontier, Xterra, and Pathfinder cowl panels use approximately 10–15 of these retainers per vehicle. We sell in packs of 25, 50, 100, and 150 so you can stock up for multiple vehicles.
