What does this clip do on the CR-V?
The 3036 clip locks the body side moulding strip to the door panel on 2017 and newer Honda CR-Vs. A properly installed clip keeps trim tight against the body, eliminating rattles and preventing wind-driven water from seeping behind the moulding and causing rust or adhesion failure.
Does the 3036 cover only 2017, or does it also fit 2018 and up?
The 3036 is listed for 2017–Present. However, South Mountain Supply also offers the 3024 specifically for 2018–Present CR-Vs. If you have a 2018 or newer CR-V, compare both clip profiles or check the OEM number stamped on your existing clip to determine which style your vehicle uses.
How many clips does a CR-V need for a full moulding replacement?
The number of clips per door varies by trim level and moulding length. A typical four-door CR-V uses approximately 6–10 clips per door. We recommend ordering a pack of 30 or more to ensure full coverage with spares for any that break during removal.
How do I install body side moulding clips on a CR-V?
Gently pry the existing moulding strip away from the door using a plastic trim removal tool. Remove broken clip pieces from both the moulding channels and door panel holes. Press fresh 3036 clips into the moulding, align the strip with the door, and press evenly to snap all clips into their panel holes at once.
Can I install these clips without removing the moulding?
Generally no — to properly seat a body side moulding clip, you need to have the clip engaged in the moulding channel before pressing the assembly into the door panel. If a single clip has broken mid-strip, you may be able to replace just that one clip after partially lifting the moulding in that section.
