The Marcy QM19 is a 19mm flexible universal exterior replacement molding, sold as a 75ft roll. A common width for full-size domestic vehicles, SUVs, and vans, it installs cleanly along the glass perimeter and provides a durable, finished edge wherever original molding has deteriorated or been removed. The flexible compound works around curves without kinking.

Width Selection Guide

Measure the gap between the glass edge and the surrounding trim or channel. At 19mm, QM19 suits full-size cars, SUVs, pickups, and vans with wider exterior molding channels. If you need the same width with a decorative accent, the QM19L Design Line is the same profile with an integrated trim detail on the outer face.

What is Quantum Molding?

Quantum Molding is a flexible exterior universal replacement molding designed to fit a wide range of glass openings without requiring a vehicle-specific part. It installs along the exterior glass edge and provides a clean, weather-resistant finish. It's commonly used when OEM molding is damaged, missing, or no longer available as a direct replacement.

What's the difference between QM19 and QM19L?

Both are 19mm wide, but QM19L is the Design Line version — it includes a decorative accent on the outer face of the molding, giving the installation a more styled, OEM-like appearance. If aesthetics and visible trim detail matter for the job, QM19L is the upgrade. For a clean standard replacement profile, QM19 is the straightforward choice.

How do I select the right width?

Measure the gap between the glass edge and the surrounding trim or pinchweld. The molding width should match this gap closely. Quantum Molding is flexible enough to handle minor variation, but if you're between sizes, the narrower width typically seats more cleanly than one that's too wide.

How is this installed?

Press the molding into place along the glass edge, typically after the glass has been set. Work around the perimeter section by section, pressing firmly into the channel. For tight curves, a brief pass with a heat gun on low makes the molding more pliable. A molding tool or wide flathead helps seat it evenly without scuffing the surrounding trim.

How much molding does one job use?

A standard windshield perimeter uses approximately 12 to 16 feet of exterior molding. A 75ft roll covers roughly 4 to 6 full installs. For smaller glass like quarter windows or rear sliders, a roll goes significantly further.
