Will these fit both the Equinox and Torrent?

Yes — the first-generation Chevrolet Equinox (2005–2009) and Pontiac Torrent (2006–2009) shared the same platform and cowl panel design. GM used the 5482103 retainer across both models. If you have either vehicle from that generation, this is the correct part.

Do these come with a sealer?

Our 20881 is a dry-fit retainer without an integrated sealer. If your application requires a water seal, apply a small bead of weatherstrip adhesive or foam tape at the panel joint separately. Inspect whether your vehicle's panel hole has its own separate seal before installation.

Why is the Equinox cowl retainer white?

White nylon is commonly used on underhood-facing retainers where color coding helps technicians quickly identify clip types during service. These clips are not visible from outside the vehicle.

How many retainers does my Equinox need?

The first-gen Equinox and Torrent cowl panel typically uses 8–12 retainers. We sell in packs of 10, 20, 40, and 60 pieces. We recommend replacing the full set rather than just broken ones, since clips of the same age tend to fail together.

How do I install double-head retainers?

Insert the retainer through the panel hole until the bottom head passes through and the top head seats against the panel surface. The stem should click into place. To remove, use a trim removal tool to pry the top head up while pushing the stem through from below. These are single-use — replace with new retainers rather than reinstalling old ones.
