What vehicles use the Ford Cowl Vent Grille Nylon Screw 19237?

This screw fits Ford Taurus (1996–2007), Mercury Sable (1996–2005), and Lincoln Mark VIII (1997–1998). It secures the cowl top vent grille panel on these platforms. Always verify against your VIN before ordering to confirm applicability, especially for early or late production years.

What is the OEM part number for this cowl grille screw?

Ford uses two OEM part numbers for this screw: W701649-S and W704881-S300. Both are identical in function and dimensions. Auveco 19237 and South Mountain Supply 19237 are direct aftermarket replacements that meet the same specifications.

Do I need a grommet with this screw?

Yes. This screw is designed to be used with the companion grommet Auveco 19238 (OEM: Ford F7DZ-5402316-AA). The nylon screw is engineered to thread into the grommet, which mounts in the body panel hole. Without the correct grommet, the screw will not retain properly. If your grommets are intact, you only need the screws — if both are damaged, order both 19237 and 19238.

What tool do I need to install this screw?

This screw uses a Phillips drive (#10 size). A standard #2 Phillips screwdriver or bit works fine. Do not overtighten — nylon screws are designed to be hand-tight or snugged gently. Overtightening can strip the nylon head or crack the grommet. If the cowl panel is fully seated, a light snug is all that's needed.

How many screws do I need for a repair?

Most Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable cowl vent grille panels use 6–10 screws, depending on the model year. We recommend inspecting the full panel and replacing all screws at once — they're inexpensive in bulk and a mix of old and new screws can lead to uneven panel retention. Our 50-piece quantity is the most popular for a full repair plus spares. Larger quantities (100, 200, 300 pieces) are available for shops doing multiple vehicles.
