Why South Mountain Supply?

We specialize exclusively in automotive clips, retainers, and fasteners — this isn't a side category for us. Bulk pricing means you can stock your shop properly without overpaying per piece.

How many retainers does one Ram truck use?

Most 1994–2002 Dodge Ram trucks use 6–10 cowl screen retainers per vehicle. We recommend replacing all of them at once — they're inexpensive, and the ones you don't replace will likely break on the next service call anyway.

Is this the correct part for my year/model Ram?

This retainer (OEM 6503336) fits Dodge Ram 1500 from 1994–2001, and Ram 2500/3500 from 1994–2002. If you have a later model Ram or a different Chrysler/Jeep vehicle, check our other cowl retainer listings — the correct OEM number will be different.

Is this OEM quality?

Yes. This is a direct equivalent to Mopar 6503336, made from the same black nylon compound. We source from the same supply chain used by professional body shops and dealership parts counters.

How do I install it?

Push-type installation — no tools required. Remove the damaged or broken retainer by prying up gently with a trim removal tool. Align the new retainer with the mounting hole in the cowl screen and press firmly until it snaps into place.

Do you offer volume pricing?

Yes — choose from 25, 50, 100, or 150-piece packs. Per-unit cost drops significantly at higher quantities. The 100-piece pack is our most popular size for shops that service Ram trucks regularly.
