What does a trunk lining retainer do?

Trunk lining retainers secure the fabric or carpet-backed trunk liner panels to the interior sheet metal of the trunk. Without these clips, the liner can shift when cargo is loaded and unloaded, pull away from the trunk walls, or sag and bunch on the floor. A properly retained liner also provides a cleaner interior appearance and protects the trunk sheet metal from scratches.

Why does this retainer have a long 16mm stem?

The 16mm stem length accommodates the combined thickness of the trunk liner material plus any foam or insulation backing behind the liner panel. Honda and Acura trunk liners are typically thicker than exterior body trim panels, requiring a longer stem to pass through the full liner assembly and lock behind the sheet metal.

How do I replace trunk lining retainers on a Honda or Acura?

Open the trunk and locate the visible retainer heads on the side walls and rear panel of the trunk interior. Use a flat trim tool to pry the head away from the liner and pull the clip out. Remove any broken fragments from the mounting holes. Press the new 19506 clip into the liner hole until the stem passes through and the head seats flush against the liner surface.

What pack size should I order?

The 19506 is available in packs of 15, 30, 60, and 90. A full trunk liner retainer replacement on most Honda and Acura models uses 6–12 clips, so a pack of 15 provides enough for one vehicle with a few spares. A pack of 30 is recommended for shops doing interior work on multiple Honda or Acura vehicles.

Can I reuse trunk lining retainers after removing a liner?

Trunk lining retainers can often be reused if removed carefully with a trim tool rather than force. Inspect each retainer for cracks, bent stems, or deformed heads before reinstalling. Any retainer that shows damage should be replaced with a new 19506 to ensure the liner sits flat and doesn't rattle or shift under cargo load.
